Sorry, Thunder has sold. Please call or text for a few others we have right now.
Thunder is a registered paint and we have owned him for approximately 3 years. He was born in 2001, approximately 15.0 hands tall and weights 1,150 to 1,200 lbs (he's a stout horse).
He's bred as a cutting horse by Skip Jones, a local and successful cutter about 5 miles down the road from us. Another older gentleman bought him as a 3 year old, broke him, used him a lot in the pasture, in the feed yard, and trained him as a calf horse. He's extremely broke and gentle and has never taken a bad step with us or even offered to "hump up".
He is an easy keeper, hauls very well, gets along well with all of our horses, and is one of those horses that is just easy to be around.
He's also one of the most athletic horses we've had and can cover a lot of ground in short time, stops hard (as you can see in the pictures), rates and tracks very good, easy to rope off of, and scores great (he's very easy to read a barrier on). The reason we are selling him is we can't keep him straight enough consistently for us - if we could figure out how to fix this we would not be selling him.
He's been used him in high school rodeos, college rodeos, amateur rodeos, jackpots, and Ultimate Calf Ropings in both the tie down and breakaway.
If you have any questions, need more information, or would like to schedule a time to try him, please call Pryce at 806-674-9367.
